Why Conventional Fastening Fails — and How Active-Wall™ & Portalwall™ Solves It


The viability of an Active-Wall™ system, as illustrated in Figure 9B, begins with the integrity of its fastening points. These points must be protected and engineered to prevent air and vapor exchange—especially through threaded connections.

In traditional systems, screws create weak points. Each time a screw penetrates material, it drills a hole and cuts threads into the substrate. The result? A compromised area where air and vapor freely pass, not just once, but thousands of cycles per day—in and out, driven by pressure shifts, temperature swings, and humidity gradients.

Yonatan eliminated this failure mode.
By rethinking the fastening strategy from the ground up, the system maintains pressurization without relying on penetrative anchoring that breaks the vapor seal. This ability to hold pressure continuously is non-negotiable—without it, the system will not function as intended.
