PortalWall® Glossary — System Components & Concepts

PortalWall® – Origins & Glossary

(Prepared by Yonatan Zvi Margalit, October 2025)

Part I – Origins Note

Why I Went Here

It began with observation: fogged windows, dripping condensation, and spandrel zones that trapped moisture. Winters brought sickness not from cold air, but from dry air stripping the body’s resilience. These were not accidents — they were design limits. Conventional walls collapsed vapor, wasted energy, and invited mold. I could not accept that.

Dot Connecting

I engaged with early heat pump technologies and humidification leaders to find partners who understood the real issue: humidity, energy, and health are inseparable. Over time, the pattern became undeniable:

  • Dry winter air = sickness.

  • Condensation in walls = mold.

  • Hidden cavities = lost energy.

  • Painted drywall as the boundary = weakness.

Each weakness revealed its fix.

What Fell Into Place

The breakthrough was recognizing the mechanical boundary: open passages adjacent to the flat surface of the enclosure create a defensible boundary, depicted by airflow.

That shift transformed the wall into a machine — one that drains, pressurizes, protects, and keeps Water Vapor Aloft™ (WVA™) where it belongs: in the living zone.

From Recognition to System

This recognition was originated and filed by me in U.S. Patent No. 10,329,758 B2, with continuations and CIPs thereafter. Every subsequent development — drainage snorkels, diaphragm unification, latent-energy preservation — builds on that original step. It is not derivative; it is original.

Part II – Glossary of Marks, Concepts & IP

(Concise technical definitions, stripped of narrative tone)

PortalWall®
Registered trademark; lead identity of the system integrating Fortified Opaque Infill™, WDSA™, and associated logic.

PortalWall®DESIGN+COMPLY+PERFORM™ SOFTWARE

PortalWall®+Open-Wall™ — The key feature is flow. With Open-Wall™, air is never trapped or restricted; it stays in contact with occupied areas, ensuring balance, comfort, and efficiency.

Fortified Opaque Infill™
Opaque wall assembly integrating structure, insulation, and airflow logic into one continuous boundary.
Status: U.S. Patent No. 10,329,758 B2.

Water-Draining Spandrel Assembly (WDSA™)
Floor-line assembly enabling drainage, airflow, and diaphragm unification. Snorkel effect ensures drying of drainage path with exterior air.
Status: U.S. Patent No. 10,329,758 B2.

PortalWall® Parallels™
Patent-pending thermal diaphragm that absorbs inward radiant energy, reflects solar heat outward, and resists multidirectional transfer.
Status: Patents Filed

Active-Wall™
Pressurized distribution through dry-side supports, maintaining surfaces above dew point.
Status: Patent Pending.

FREED™AIR - Where FLOW defines the state

MC²™ – Two Major Components
Every assembly reduces to two: Fortified Opaque Infill™ and WDSA™. Scalable, reproducible foundation.
Status: U.S. Patent No. 10,329,758 B2.

WVA™ – Water Vapor Aloft™
Performance outcome: vapor remains aloft, never collapsing into hidden cavities.
Status: Patent Pending.

ZUZATherm™
Heat pump + vapor + hot water, capturing latent energy for comfort and instant domestic supply.
Status: Patents Filed

DelugeWall™
Exterior cooling via controlled water sheeting to reduce heat gain and extend durability.
Status: Patents Filed

ZUZAlogic™
Controls and IoT layer managing airflow, portals, and thermal exchange to sustain WVA™.
Status: Trademark/Teaching Mark.

Pascal-Logic™
Pressurization concept: a few Pascals above atmosphere stabilize the boundary and halt vapor migration.
Status: Trademark/Teaching Mark.

Pascal Rivers™
Directed vapor flows guided safely outward by the mechanical boundary.
Status: Trademark/Teaching Mark.

ZUZA (Hebrew: “movement”)
Root concept: when air is free to move, energy is shared and condensation is avoided.
Status: Trademark/Teaching Mark.

We OutSulate™ Completely
Tagline capturing PortalWall®’s continuous external insulation strategy.
Status: Trademark/Teaching Mark.

Part III – Attribution & Ownership

All names, marks, and concepts — PortalWall®, MC²™, WVA™, Active-Wall™, ZUZATherm™, DelugeWall™, ZUZAlogic™, Parallels™, Pascal-Logic™, Pascal Rivers™, ZUZA — were conceived and created solely by Yonatan Zvi Margalit.

💧 PortalWall® keeps water vapor suspended and aloft — saving energy and protecting health.

Trillions of H₂O molecules collide with oxygen and nitrogen each second—stretching, bending, and spinning through countless impacts that exchange warmth and balance.

PortalWall® preserves this natural friction of motion, keeping vapor in suspension, preventing condensation, and sustaining comfort, efficiency, and wellbeing.
