I realized that if this principle were not captured by a symbol — a simple badge of truth — it would take too long to explain. Thus, Water Vapor Aloft™ (WVA™) was born.

Latent Energy Aloft™ (LEA™) is the thermodynamic buffer that stabilizes human comfort. Humans feel truly comfortable only when two conditions are met: their own heat is not being pulled away by the surrounding air, and the air is not stripping moisture from their skin or nasal passages.

A full thermal analysis conducted with LBNL’s industry-standard THERM software confirmed that the PortalWall® assembly exhibits zero condensation risk under design conditions.
Even at outdoor temperatures as low as 0°F, interior surface temperatures remain well above the dew point — ensuring dry, mold-resistant performance.
This superior result is driven by the system’s underlying thermal logic:
- Flat-sheet diaphragm — replaces conventional vertical framing, absorbing and distributing energy uniformly.
- No vertical framing members — eliminating weak points typical of conventional façades.
- Continuous Outsulate™ capability — the flat diaphragm creates a robust plane for uninterrupted exterior insulation.
